Good First Food Processor June 25, 2007 Reviewer:  Tara from Oregon See all my reviews >

I bought this because it was about the amount I was willing to invest to see if I'd use it. I DO! Now, I find myself hoping it will die, but even during a power session where I made five different kinds of scones, it lived. I did cause it to smoke once, though that was my fault. And in spite of that, it has made several batches of scones since! It is a great product if you're not sure you'll use a food processor. If you know you will, I recommend getting one with a stronger motor, a blade closer to the bottom of the, and maybe a wider mouth. But overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, as are my eager samplers.

PERFECT FOR THE PRICE!!! November 21, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Clough Real Name (Los Angeles, CA United States)  See all my reviews >

As long as you don't expect this to do the same job as a $100+ model it will serve you right! Honestly, the poor reviews make me suspect user error and/or unrealistic expectations. I bought this with the sole intention of using it to make salsa, and since I never needed a food processor before I couldn't rationalize spending $100+ on a higher quality product. So, having never expected this to knead dough or mix concrete I can say with absolute certainty (and several batches of salsa later) that it is worth every penny. Now pass me them tortilla chips!

Avarage food processor April 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Attila Bodi Real Name See all my reviews >

It has 1 speed, extremely fast. The S blades are fat and they make all the liquid come out of your vegetables (that's bad). Your left with a very thin soupy slush.
It would be great for making salad dressing or a bland wet salsa, but that's not why I bought it.

The top insert section isn't close enough to the disk blade, so a lot of things get stuck in the top portion.

But, It dose have easy cleanup.

Waste of Money November 8, 2008 Reviewer:  Diana B (Mi)  See all my reviews >

This was given to me as a wedding gift. When it was time to use it the first time for flour and butter for my apple crumble pie, it didn't work right out of the box. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

Poor Quality September 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Railroad Man "Train Fan" (in the State of Confusion)  See all my reviews >

I had one of these processors and have used it maybe 10 times and the motor has burned out. Something came loose inside when I was using it and shorted out the motor. Waste of money!! I will not buy any more Hamilton-Beach products.

Spend the extra money and get a decent one! February 24, 2009 Reviewer:  A.V. (upstate NY)  See all my reviews >

This unit died after a couple years of very light use. It never did a good job chopping although shredding feature was ok. When blending, the bowl ALWAYS leaked all over the place, no matter how little liquid is in it. It could only handle a small amount of food at one time so each recipe had to be split into batches. If you can possible save up for a better model, don't bother with this one. You get what you pay for, and this is what [this amount] gets you!

Hard to find parts December 31, 2008 Reviewer:  chemccu See all my reviews >

This food processor worked great for 3 uses and then the disc broke where it connects. I have been looking for a replacement blade and I cannot find them for this model. I will buy a different one next time.

Great, inexpensive food processor November 15, 2009 Reviewer:  HappyCook "JRossRN" (IL)  See all my reviews >

I have had my food processor for about 6 years and it is still running strong. I never thought I would use it much, but I use it about 1-2x per week and I haven't experienced very many of the issues many others wrote in about. Maybe I just happened to get one of the better made ones, I don't know, but I am happy with it.
WHAT I LIKE : inexpensive, large bowl capacity, easy to assemble and operate.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE: I have experienced liquid spilling out of the bowl...but usually only when I have the bowl filled over 1/2 full with liquid (like soup or something), and it is kind of loud.
I would highly recommend this food processor, especially if you are just starting out cooking or don't have lots of cash to spend on kitchen appliances.

suprisingly good October 28, 2009 Reviewer:  doting Nana "Kaye B" (Newport Beach,CA)  See all my reviews >

I bought the processor mainly to grate cheese but find myself using it more and more in a variety of ways. It's actually easier to use than my expensive processor. for the money it's a great little machine!

died after 1 year. October 10, 2009 Reviewer:  Jill See all my reviews >

But I must say, during this one year, I used it a lot (once, maybe twice a week). It did work well.
